Described as both having a “captivating personality of a deep poetic inspiration” by Arie Vardi, whilst also possessing “not only a great technique but also a marvellous musical approach in all styles” by Cyprien Katsaris, Teodora Kapinkovska has performed extensively to widespread critical acclaim.
Since graduating from Trieste's Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Italy (Cum Laude), Kapinkovska has steadily been building a reputation as a consistent and characterful performer, regularly appearing in venues across Italy, Germany, Slovenia, the UK, and also her native North Macedonia. In recent seasons she has debuted with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto at Vicenza's Teatro Olimpico, and has also participated in high-profile musical events, particularly within the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy, such as “The Holy Piano” concert touring project as well as the ambitious “Piano Hexagon” project.
She made her debut recital at Trieste's Società dei Concerti Festival at Teatro Verdi di Muggia in 2024, and has also appeared recently at Monfalcone's Teatro Comunale, Pordenone's Teatro Aldo Moro, Sacile's Palazzi Ragazzoni, Enna's Teatro Garibaldi and Maniago's Teatro Verdi, amongst many others.
Teodora won the 33rd “Città di Cantù” Competition in May 2025, debuting with the Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacău under the direction of Maestro Ovidiu Balan, performing Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto.
During her time as a student, Kapinkovska was nominated for Italy's National Arts Award, a competition featuring the 60 best pianists from Italian conservatories — where she was awarded 2nd Prize. She had also previously been a finalist in Italy's prestigious Brunelli Competition. Over the years, she has established an impressive CV, with over 30 national and international awards, and even specifically caught the attention of Martha Argerich for her award-winning performances at the Vigo International Competition.
Kapinkovska's unique musical style is the result of decades of study and refinement, and has been heavily influenced by her past mentors. She has received advice and training from many of the leading pedagogues of her generation, including Arie Vardi, Dmitri Alexeev, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Andrea Bonatta, Christopher Elton, Alexander Romanovsky, Milana Chernyavska, Gerritt Zitterbart and Teresa Trevisan, amongst others. Through her extensive training in both solo performance and chamber music, Kapinkovska continues to develop her musical personality through engaging and emotionally charged performances for audiences around the world.
Kapinkovska has recently been admitted to the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, where she is currently pursuing a Specialized Master in Performance in Roberto Plano's piano class. Her studies in Switzerland are supported by the Geert und Lore Blanken-Schlemper-Stiftung and the Stiftung S. & B. Salzmann, whose support enables her to further develop her artistic career and pursue her international ambitions.
